How can Litegreen help?

Litegreen offers a hassle-free solution for all your DEC and EPC obligations, ensuring that you meet all legal requirements for your buildings with ease. Our team of experts will handle all aspects of the process for you, making it a stress-free experience.

DECs are calculated based on the actual energy consumption of your building. Our skilled assessors will collect all necessary data and calculate your energy rating using approved methods by the energy and construction industries. In addition, we provide a comprehensive Advisory Report that helps you identify energy improvement measures, allowing you to reduce energy costs and carbon emissions for the environment.

When it comes to EPCs, our accredited assessors conduct a thorough site audit to gather all relevant building and system information. This information is then used to perform a simulation of the building using government-approved energy modelling software. The resulting operational rating and grade are then logged on the Government register to obtain the EPC. We ensure that the entire process is carried out seamlessly, making it easy for you to comply with all regulations.

At Litegreen, we understand the importance of meeting your legal obligations while also reducing your energy costs and environmental impact. That's why we offer a range of services to help you achieve these goals with ease. Trust us to take care of all your DEC and EPC needs, so you can focus on running your business.

What is a DEC?

DEC's are designed to show the energy performance of public buildings. You can find out about a public building’s energy use and carbon emissions by checking it's Display Energy Certificate (DEC). They also use a scale that runs from ‘A’ to ‘G’ - ‘A’ being the most efficient and ‘G’ being the least. You can see an example of a DEC here:

When is a DEC needed?

Display Energy Certificates (DECs) are needed for buildings that are visited by members of the public. They are usually displayed in a very visible place for members of the public.  Usually buildings are at least partially occupied by a public or local authority or an institution that provides a public service. The building must also have a total floor area greater than 250m2.

Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) similar and also required for any type of building when it is constructed, rented or sold even public buildings. A current up to date EPC certificate must be provided to the owner once construction is complete.

Energy Performance Certificate (EPC's)

Same day EPC's can be conducted at the same time as your DEC if needed.

The information gathered on site can be used to carry out a simulation of the building using government-approved energy modelling software. This will determine the building’s operational rating and grade, which are logged on the Government register in order to obtain the EPC the very same day.
